Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) Precision
The TXV is a precision component that measures the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant to adjust the flow rate into the evaporator. In our Tri-Zone systems, each zone has its own dedicated metering device to ensure optimal performance. This is why a 36,000 BTU 2-Zone (18k+18k) setup can cool two different sized rooms with equal precision. To keep these sensitive valves from clogging, we include high-quality filters in our Other Accessories catalog. The Bravo Milano 12,000 BTU Universal Floor/Ceiling relies on this valve to prevent "liquid slugging" in the compressor. Proper installation using our Installation Kits ensures that the TXV can operate within its designed parameters. It is the "brain" of the refrigerant cycle, keeping the system running at peak efficiency.
