Lift-pump integration involves a built-in mechanical pump that can push drainage water vertically, allowing for flexible indoor unit placement. This is a standard feature in our Ceiling Cassette Multi-Zone models, enabling them to be installed in basements or middle-of-floor locations. Even our Slim Duct Multi-Zone units often utilize this technology to clear attic rafters or other obstacles. For our floor-mounted 9,000 BTU Universal Floor/Ceiling units, gravity drainage is usually sufficient, but pumps are available as Accessories. Having a built-in pump reduces the complexity of the initial install and prevents the risk of water damage to your drywall. It is one of the many "hidden" technologies that make the UFC Multi-Zone series so versatile. Without a lift pump, your installation options would be strictly limited by the path to the nearest exterior wall.
